More than 130 guests, including state legislators, community leaders, local residents,
educators, and water industry professionals, gathered on Oct. 23 for the annual
Groundwater Adventure Tour, hosted by the District.
This yearly tour is a unique opportunity to introduce the public to all facets of
the District's operations and includes stops at the Groundwater Replenishment
System, Advanced Water Quality Assurance Laboratory, Anaheim Recharge Facilities, and
Prado Wetlands.
Participants were able to hear and speak with a number of experts in the fields
of chemistry, biology, water conservation, water reuse, engineering, operations,
and more. They also got to see, firsthand, wildlife of the wetlands, and some had
the extra fun of getting their hands dirty by planting California Buckwheat, California
Sagebrush and Coastal Goldenbush in the Prado Wetland Interpretive Garden.
Photos from the day may be viewed on

Adventure Tour but still want to tour OCWD facilities? The District offers tours
