As part of its standard to forge and maintain long-term, positive and proactive
relationships with members of the community and be transparent about its operations
and programs, OCWD board members and staff participate, regularly, at community
events and speak before civic groups. Below are a few we participated in during
November.
- Director Philip Anthony gave a brief presentation to the City of Garden Grove
about OCWD, its cleanup projects and water supplies.
- Executive Director of Operations William Hunt was one of three panelists discussing
"California Water: Past Present & Future" at "All Points of the
Compass," Cal State Fullerton's annual geography symposium.
- Chief Hydrogeologist Roy Herndon gave a presentation to Anaheim Public Utilities
staff.
- Recharge Planning Manager Adam Hutchinson and City of Buena Park Utilities Manager
Mike Grisso presented an Orange County Water Briefing to members of the Rotary Club
of Buena Park. Adam was also a panelist presenting "The Science and Engineering
Behind California's Water Management Issues" for Orange County Sustainability
Collaborative's "Drought Management" event.
- Groundwater Replenishment System Program Manager Mehul Patel was a member of the
panel "Living with Less: New Strategies for Conserving and Re-using Western
Water" at the Engineering News-Record Western Water Conference.
- David Bolin, Principal Hydrogeologist, presented a water supply briefing to the
O.C. Farm Bureau that included representatives from the Agricultural Commission
of the County of Orange, the University of California Cooperative Extension, the
California Farm Bureau Federation, the Nationwide Insurance Co., and the Federal
Farm Bank.
